Soundmaps is a small, simple and effective program that carries out an unusual task: extracting sounds from images. To use it you simply open the program, select the method of extraction and thats that. Each image will emit a different sound.

It includes 6 different methods. Kritsj: bitmap data is sent to the sound board. Kratsj: frequency for the conversion of time domain which is loaded before the sound board output. MIDI ( Way 3 ): sounds are generated using harps and banjos in a dodecaphonic scale in which six instruments are employed.

Classic 1. blues chords are played by the piano and the bass, using also six instruments. Classic 2. a waltz is generated in heptaphonic scale. Almost Nix: a still to be defined method which does not seem to do very much.
