Bytessence AMVConverter is a graphic user interface for the FFmpeg converter, and works mainly with AMV files.
AMV is a relatively new video format, related to Actions chipsets. These are very common in some portable multimedia players, which are getting more and more popular.
Normally these devices include a CD with utilities, one of which is usually a converter. The problem is this converter works only with Windows operating systems, and also isnīt very powerful. This is the main aim of the Bytessence AMVConverter authors, to create an FFmpeg multiplexor/demultiplexor that is quick and versatile.
Bytessence AMVConverter uses the patched FFmpeg to offer a solid and free alternative to traditional conversion software. Also, the program is multiplatform. It supports Unicode and contextual menus (right mouse button). This version here is for Windows but you can also find versions of Bytessence AMVConverter for Linux.
