AVI To MPEG Scout is a free tool that lets you convert, step by step with an assistant, AVI, MPG or WMV video formats to MPEG1, MPEG2, DVD, VideoCD, xDiv and DivX formats.

The characteristics of the program include support for NTSC and PAL TV systems. You can choose between different aspect rations: 1:1, 3:4 (normal for TV), 16:9 (widescreen), and 2.21:1 (cine format). The number of frames per second can be configured between 5 and 30, and it supports 320x240, 640x480, 720x576 (in NTSC format), 720x480 (in PAL) and 800x600 resolutions, or any other you want to personalize.

As has been mentioned, AVI to MPEG Scout admits AVI, MPEG and WMV as entry formats. As exit formats, you can choose between MPEG, MPEG2, DivX, xDiv and DVD.
