Many users thing videogames are just entertainment without realizing that some have profound cultural connections.

This is the case with Arm Joe, a fight game in which characters from Les Miserables by Victor Hugo confront eachother. Published in 1862 it tells the story of the political revolution of 1830 which finished the reign of Philip I of France. Jean Valjean, the main character, is condemned to five years in prison for commiting a small theft in order to eat, but then receives another fourteen years for trying to escape.

In Arm Joe you enter a gaming world of the epoch and you can fight against Jean Valjean and other characters from the pen of Victor Hugo, like Ponpon and the terrible Robot Jean, who terrorizes his enemies.

Arm Joe has greate literary documentation to back it up, so that each of its characters is directly from the novel of Victor Hugo.
